The concept behind Coach was to turn leather into something that were not only beautiful but also intelligent and useful
Six craftsmen established the Original American House of Leather in New York in 1941, and Lillian and Miles Cahn were instrumental in the company’s growth and development into what it is today
Then came Bonnie Cashin, who was Coach’s first main designer after being selected by Miles Cahn in 1962 to fill that role
Because of Bonnie’s daring vision of color, proportion, and oddity, as well as her passion of doing, Coach was converted into the ideal expression of contemporary freedom and equality, which was the attitude of New York City in the 1960s

Stuart Vevers, who joined Coach in 2013 and brought with him a passion of workmanship as well as an enthusiasm for American pop culture, has been rethinking the tradition of our house since that year
His free-spirited designs brought Coach to the attention of a new generation
He was inspired to create these collections by the welcoming and adventurous attitude of New York
For his work at Coach in 2017, Vevers was recognized as both the Accessory Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the Designer of the Year by the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA)
